Preparing a dossier for confidential searches in Bavaria and beyond
Confidential mandates reward disciplined documentation: a clean narrative, careful references, and no public noise while conversations are underway.
Confidential executive searches move differently from open postings. Your materials may circulate among a small circle of partners and client stakeholders long before your name appears on a shortlist. That reality rewards a dossier that is complete without being loud.
Start with a CV that reads cleanly in German business English or German, depending on the mandate. Avoid inflated metrics that cannot survive a reference call. Include a short note on notice period and any non-compete constraints — search consultants prefer to know early.
References should be briefed that a call may arrive without public context. Choose people who can speak to your last two roles with specifics, not character endorsements alone. For Bavaria-based employers, regional networks can be tight; assume that informal checks may happen alongside formal ones.
Until an offer is real, keep LinkedIn updates and conference visibility modest. A sudden surge of career-related posts during a quiet search is an unnecessary risk.
